Solution:

x + (1/ x) = 2

⇒

x^ 2 +1 = 2 x

⇒

x ^2 + 1 - 2 x = 0

⇒

( x -1) ^2 = 0

⇒

x - 1= 0

⇒

x = 1

∴

x ^21 + 1 / x^ 1331 =(1)^21+1/(1)^1331

= 1+ 1=2
