A sum of Rs. 400 becomes Rs. 448 at simple interest in 2 years. In how many years will the sum of Rs. 550 amounts to Rs. 682 at the same rate ?

Solution:

Let the rate of simple interest = r%
According to the question,

{400×r×2}/100+400=448

⇒r=6%

Let time = t years

{550×6×t}/100+550=682

⇒t=4\years
