Dadabhai Naoroji (also known as Grand Old Man of India) was the first Indian elected to the British House of Commons. He was elected for the Liberal Party in Finsbury Central at the 1892 general election. He also published 'Poverty and un-British Rule in India' in 1901 which focused on the drain of wealth from India to Britain.
