At what point does the line 2x + 5y = -6 cuts the X-axis ?

Solution:

At x-axis, y co-ordinate is 0, therefore putting y = 0 in the given equation,
⇒

2 x+0=-6 ⇒ 2 x=-6

∴

x=- {6}/{2}=-3

∴ Required point

= (x ,y ) = (-3 , 0)
