Let the three consecutive odd numbers be x, x + 2 and x + 4, respectively.
According to the question,
$\mathit{x}\left(\mathit{x}+2\right)\left(\mathit{x}+4\right)=1287$
$=9\times 11\times 13$
⇒ $\mathit{x}\left(\mathit{x}+2\right)\left(\mathit{x}+4\right)=9\left(9+2\right)\left(9+4\right)$
∴ $\mathit{x}=9$
Hence, the largest of the three numbers = 9 + 4 = 13
