Solution:

(a) Given, capacity of a cylindrical tank

=5632 {\m}^3

and, diameter

=16 {\m}

i.e.,

2 r=16 {\m}

∴ r=8 {\m}

Volume of a cylindrical tank

=5632 {\m}^3

πr^2 h=5632

⇒ {22}/{7} ×8^2 ×h=5632

⇒ h={5632 × 7}/{22 ×8 ×8}

={704 × 7}/{22 ×8}={88 ×7}/{22}=4 ×7 {\m}=28 {\m}

∴ Depth

=h=28 {\m}
