Solution:

(d) Suppose that the smaller part =

Then, larger part

=1500-a

ATQ,

10% (1500-a)-8%a = 60

10% (1500-a) - 8a = 6000

15000-10a-8a = 6000

18a = 15000-6000

18a = 9000

a = 500

∴ Smaller part

=a = 500

And larger part

= 1500-a

= 1500-500

=1000
