Thus,

$4\left(5\mathit{x}+1800\right)=3\left(6\mathit{x}-1600\right)$
$20\mathit{x}-7200=18\mathit{x}-4800$
$\mathit{x}=1200$
Therefore, the income of the wife = 6 × 1200 = ₹ 7,200
