A woman has a certain number of mangoes, of which 13% are bad. She gives 75% of the remainder to charity, and then has 261 left. How many mangoes did she have at first?

Solution:

(3) Let the woman had total x mangoes. 13% mangoes were bad, then 87% were good.
again 75% of remaining for charity, then she had left 25%mangoes.∴ By question,
25% of (87% of x) = 261

⇒ x ×87/100×25/100 = 261

⇒ x ={261× 100× 100}/{87 ×25}

= 1200
