Which two signs should be interchanged to make the following equation correct?
5 × 45 − 15 + 31 ÷ 41 = 5

Solution:

(1) Given equation is

5 × 45 - 15 + 31 ÷ 41 = 5

By interchanging the symbols of ÷and − it becomes,

{ } 5 \× 45 ÷ 15 + 31 - 41 = 5 \ { Now, } \ { L. H.S. } = 5 × 3 + 31 - 41 \ = 15 + 31 - 41 \ = 46 - 41 = 5 = { R.H.S } { }
