A fan is listed at ₹150/- with a discount of 20%. What additional discount must be of fered to the customer to bring the net price to ₹108/- ?

Solution:

M.P. of a fan = 150
Discount = 20%
Price of a fan after 20% discount

⇒150-{150×20}/100=₹120

Let x% is additional discount
Then,

120-{120×x}/100=108

{120x}/100=120-108

∴x={12×100}/120=10%

∴ Additional discount = 10%
