The marked price of a mixie is ₹ 1600. The shopkeeper gives successive discount of 10% and x% to the customer. If the customer pays ₹1224 for the mixie, find the value of x :

Solution:

First discount

={1600×10}/100=₹ 160

Price after it

=1600-160=₹1440

∴{1440×x}/100=1440-1224=216

∴ x={216×100}/1440=15%
