Density of a solid is a mass/volume. If mass is doubled while keeping volume constant,then density of solid will become twice. On the other hand, if mass is doubled and volume is not constant, then density will remain the same. Since in a solid, generally a change in mass will result in a change in volume, unless a chemical process is involved, so the density will remain the same
