(1) The Regional Rural Banks(Amendment) Bill, 2014 hasraised the authorised capitalof Regional Rural Banks(RRBs) to Rs 2,000 crore. It isintended to strengthen theseinstitutions and further deepenfinancial inclusion. RRBswere set up in pursuance ofthe Regional Rural Banks Act,1976, to meet the credit needsof the rural sector.
