The capacity of a cylindrical tank is 246.4 litres. If the height is 4m, find the diameter of the base.

Solution:

Here,

{22}/7 × r^2 × 400

= 246.4 × 1000
⇒

r^2

{2464×100×7}/{22×400}

= 28 × 7
∴ r = 14 cm
Hence, diameter of the base = 2r = 2 × 14 = 28 cm
