Let the number of members = x
Total contribution = Rs 3,000.
According to the statement,

x(3x+10)=3000

3x^2+10x-3000=0

x={-b±√D}/{2a}

={-10±√{10^2-4× 3(-3000)}}/{2×3}

={-10±√36100}/6

={-10±190}/6

={-10-190}/6 , {-10+190}/6

Negative value is

=180/6=30

Number of members = 30.
