Let the two-digit number be 10x + y, then, x + y = 8 ...(i)
And also, 10x + y – 18 = 10y + x
⇒ 9x – 9y = 18
⇒ x – y = 2 ...(ii)
Solving these two equations, we get x = 5 and y = 3
Hence, number = 10 × 5 + 3 = 53
