Solution:

Let reduced price by Rs. x per dozen, then

48/x=48/{x+4}=1

⇒{48×4}/{x^2+4x}=1

⇒x^2+4x-192=0

⇒ (x + 16) (x - 12) = 0

∴ x = Rs. 12
