Solution:

Let the population of the town before 3 years is P.
Green A = 3,67,200, x = 20% and n = 3 years.
Then, using formula

A=P(1+x/100)^n

3,67,200=P(1+20/100)^3

3,67,200 =P(6/5)^3

3,67,200×125/216=P

1,700 × 125 = P

∴ Population = 2,12,500
