of the total number of dresses are suits, 15% are jeans and the remaining 330 dresses are kurtis. Find the total number of dresses in the shop.

Solution:

Let the total number of dresses be x.

∴10/100x+1/4x+15/100x+330=x

x/10+x/4+3/20x+330=x

10x + 25x + 15x + 33,000 = 100x

50x + 33,000 = 100x

33,000 = 50x

660 = x
