Solution:

Let the first number be x.
Then second number = 4,840 - x
According to the question,
10.8% of x = 18% of (4,840 - x)

10.8/100×x=18/100×(4840-x)

108/180x=4840-x

6/10x=4840-x

6x =48 ,400 -10x

16x= 48,400

x = 3,025

So, the numbers are 3,025 and (4,840 - 3,025) = 1,815
