The measurement of solution of acid and water in a vessel = 60 Litre
Per cent of acid in the solution = 80%
The measurement of the acid in the solution $=60\times \frac{80}{100}=48$ litres
Water in the solution = 60 - 48 = 12 litres.
Water to be added in solution is
According to the statement,
$\frac{48}{60+\mathit{x}}\times 100=60$
$4,800=3,600+60\mathit{x}$
$4,800-3,600=60\mathit{x}$
$1,200=60\mathit{x}$
x = 20 litre
So, 20 litres of water is to be added to the solution.
