and the length and the breadth are in the ratio 7 : 2 respectively. What is the perimeter of the rectangle?

Solution:

Area of a rectangular field = 3,584

m^2

Length = 7x
Breadth = 2x
Area = l × b
= 7x × 2x = 3,584

14x^2

= 3,584 m.

x^2

= 256 m.
x = 16 m.
Length = 7x = 112 m.
Breadth = 2x = 32 m
Perimeter = 2(l + b)
= 2(112 + 32)
= 2 (144) = 288 m.
