When train started from Pune, let number of passengers was x. On next station, 1/3 got down and 96 got in.
Now passengers in train

= x=x/3+96={2x}/3+96

On next station

1/2[{2x}/3+96]

got down and 12 got in
Now passengers in train

={2x}/3+96-[x/3+48]+12

⇒248={2x}/3-x/3+96-48+12
