Let five consecutive numbers = x, x + 1, x + 2, x + 3 and x + 4
Average of five consecutive numbers = n
$\frac{\mathit{x}+\mathit{x}+1+\mathit{x}+2+\mathit{x}+3+\mathit{x}+4}{5}=\mathit{n}$
$5\mathit{x}+10=5\mathit{n}$
$5\mathit{x}=5\mathit{n}-10$
$\mathit{x}=\mathit{n}-2$
Now the average of seven numbers will be$=\frac{7\mathit{x}+21}{7}=\frac{7\left(\mathit{n}-2\right)+21}{7}$
$=\frac{7\mathit{n}-14+21}{7}$ $=\frac{7\mathit{n}+7}{7}=\mathit{n}+1$
Average of seven consecutive numbers will increase by 1.
