p + s = 18

2p = 32 - (e + s) …(4)
From (1), we get
e + s = 24 - p ...(5)
Solving (4) and (5),
2p = 32 - (e + s)
2p = 32 - (24 - p)
2p = 32 - 24 + p
p = 8
∴ Price of pencils = Rs 8
