The ratio of length and breadth of a rectangular plot is 71 : 61 respectively. The area of the plot is 17324

. What is perimeter of the plot?

Solution:

Let length and breadth of a rectangle be 71x and 61x m; then
71x × 61x = 17324
⇒

x^2

{17324}/{71×61}

= 4
∴ x = 2
Hence, length = 71 × 2 = 142 m; breadth = 61 × 2 = 122 m
Since, perimeter = 2(142 + 122) = 2 × 264 = 528 m
