One of the diagonals of a rhombus is double the other diagonal. Its area is 25

. Find the sum of diagonals.

Solution:

Let diagonals of the rhombus be d and 2d cm; then

× d × 2d = 25
⇒

d^2

= 25
∴ d = 5 cm
Since, diagonals are 5 and 10 cm respectively,
Hence, sum of the diagonals = 5 + 10 = 15 cm
