34^{∘} {C}

. If the temperature on Thursday was

th that of Monday, then what was the temperature of Thursday?

Solution:

Here,

\;\; M+T+W=3 × 37

=111^{∘} {C}

......(i)

T+W+T h=3 × 34=102^{∘}

......(ii)
On subtracting Eq. (ii) from Eq. (i), we get

M-T h=(111-102)

=9^{∘} {C}

Now,

\;\; T h=\;{4}/{5} M

⇒ \;\; ∴ \;\; \;{5}/{4} T h-T h=9

\;{T h}/{4}=9

∴ \;\; {Th}=9 × 4=36^{∘} {C}
