The average salary of 7 technicians to

₹ 12000

and the average salary of the rest is

₹ 6000 .

The total number of workers in the workshop is

Solution:

Let total number of workers in workshop

=x

Then, total salary of all workers

=8000 × x

According to the question.

8000 x=7 × 12000+(x-7) × 6000

⇒ 8000 x=84000+6000 x-42000

⇒ 8000 x-6000 x=84000-42000

⇒ 2000 x=42000

∴ \;\; x=21

So, the total number of workers is 21
