In a mixture of 120 litres of milk and water, the amount of water is 40 litres and the remaining is milk. What is the ratio of milk to water?

Solution:

Amount of water in the mixture of 120 litres = 40 litres
∴ Amount of milk in the mixture = 80 litres
Ratio of milk to water

=80/40=2:1
