The average of four consecutive even numbers is 27. Find the largest of these numbers.

Solution:

x+x+2+x+4+x+6=27×4

4x+12=27×4

4x=108–12=96

x=96/4=24

Numbers are 24, 26, 28, 30
∴ Largest number = 30
