A shopkeeper marks the price of his goods 20% higher than the original price. After that he allows a discount of 10%. What profit o loss did he get?

Solution:

Let, original price = ₹ 100
∴ Marked price

=100+20=₹120

Discount = 10% of 120

=10/100×120=₹12

S.P.

=120–12=₹108

Profit = SP – CP

=₹(108–100)=₹8

Profit %

=8/100×100=8%
