Solution:

(b) Let the CP of an apple be ₹ x and that of a guava be ₹ y.
∴ 12x+8y=76 ...(i)
8x+ 12y=64 ...(ii)
On adding (i) and (ii). we have
20x+20y= 140
⇒ 20 (x+y) = 140
⇒

x+y=140/20=7=₹7
