Solution:

(d) Given,

x-\;{1}/{x}=2

Now, squaring both sides,

⇒ \;\; x^{2}+\;{1}/{x^{2}}-2=4[ ∵ (a-b)^{2}=a^{2}+b^{2}-2 a b]

⇒ \;\; x^{2}+\;{1}/{x^{2}}=4+2

⇒ \;\; x^{2}+\;{1}/{x^{2}}=6
