Helium is not the fuel element. Helium (symbol-He) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert gas which is mainly used to inflate blimps, balloons etc. Fuel elements are such elements which consists of nuclear fuel and other materials for use in a reactor. Uranium, Thorium and Radium are fuel elements as they contain nuclear fuel for use in a fission reactor.
