The quantity of ethanol =

4/5

× 60
= 48 litre
The quantity of ether =

1/5

× 60
= 12 litre
∴

{48}/{12+x}

2/1

⇒ 24 + 2x = 48
⇒ 2x = 24
⇒ x = 12
