A cylindrical container is filled with ice cream. Its diameter is 12 cm and height is 15 cm. The whole ice cream is distributed among 10 children in equal cones having hemispherical tops. If the height of the conical portion is twice the diameter of its base, the diameter of the ice cream cone is

Let radius of cone = r
Clearly, Volume of cylinder =10 [Volume of cone + Volume of hemisphere]
π x 6 x 6 x 15 = 10

[1/3π×r^2×4r+2/3πr^3]

[∵ height of cone = 4 x radius]
⇒ 36 x 15π = 10 x π x 2 x

= 27
⇒ r = 3
Hence, diameter of icecream cone = 2 x 3 = 6 cm
