Solution:

(a) Let the first, second and third number the x, y and z respectively.
Then, x =

({100-32}/100)z = {68z}/100

and y =

({100-20}/100)z=80/100z

∴ Required percentage =

{68/100z}/{80/100z}

× 100 %
=

68/80

× 100 % = 85%
