Solution:

(a) Let the number be 10x + y.
Given, sum of digits =7
⇒ x + y = 7 ...........(i)
According to the question,
(10y + x) - (10x + y) = 27 ⇒ 9y - 9x = 27
⇒ 9y - 9(7 - y) = 27 [By using Eq. (i)]
⇒ 9y - 63 + 9y = 27
⇒ 18y = 27 +63 ⇒ y =

90/18

= 5
∴ x = 7 - 5 = 2
Hence, the number is 25.
