(b ) Let cistern will be empty in x h.
Then, due to leak time taken,

1/(6+4)-1/x=1/6

⇒

1/10-1/x=1/6

⇒

1/x=1/6-1/10

⇒

1/x= {10-6}/60=4/60

⇒

1/x=4/60=1/15

⇒

1/x= 1/15

∴ x = 15h
