(a) There are 13 hearts in the deck of 52 cards.
According to the question,
A person stops when he draws a heart and for that he make 3 trails.
In the first trial d o e s not get a heart.
So, probability = $\frac{39}{52}$
(∵ 39 cards are non-heart cards)
Again In second trial he does not get a heart,
so probability = $\frac{39}{52}$
and in the last trial he picked a heart card
so probability = $\frac{13}{52}$
Required probability, so that he has to make 3 trials
= $\frac{39}{52}\times \frac{39}{52}\times \frac{13}{52}=\frac{9}{64}$
