Amir and akbar can finish a task in 30 days and 15 days respectively. Akbar worked on the task for 8 days and left the job. In how many days can Amir alone finish the remaining work ?

Given:
Let us try to do this question with the LCM method
As time taken by Amir to complete the work = 30 days
Time taken by Akbar to comlpete the same work = 15 days
Calculations:
As we can see in the given figure, total work be = 30unit
∴ Efficiency of Amir = 30unit/ 30 days = 1unit/day ______ ( 1 )
And Efficiency of Akbar = 30unit/15 days = 2unit/day ______ ( 2 )
⇒ Work done by Akbar in 8 days

= 8× 2 = 16

unit
⇒ Work left for Amir

= 30 – 16 = 14

unit
⇒ Time taken by Amir to do 14 unit work = 14/1 = 14 days
