∴ According to the question.
(x + 12) = 1 $\frac{1}{3}$ × (x - 12)
or , x + 12 = $\frac{4}{3}$ (x - 12)
or , x + 12 = $\frac{4\mathit{x}}{3}$ - 16
or , $\frac{4\mathit{x}}{3}$ - x = 12 + 6
or , $\frac{\mathit{x}}{3}$ = 28
∴ x × 28 × 3 = 84 years
