Testes are male gonads which produce sperms and secrete hormones. The testes are contained in sacs called scrotum, which is connected to the abdomen via inguinal canals. The cremaster and dartos muscles of the scrotum help regulate the temperature (2–2.5° C less than that of normal internal body temperature) of the testes. This is important for spermatogenesis.
