(2) As per a survey on Swachhta status conducted by NSSO during May-June 2015, the results of which were declared in September 2016, Sikkim was adjudged the cleanest state. Sikkim recorded 100 per cent in the category of people using household/community toilets and 98.2 per cent in the category of households having sanitary toilet. Kerala was ranked second.
