$y = e ^ { - x } \( c _ { 1 } \cos x + c _ { 2 } \sin x ) + e ^ { x } ( c _ { 3 } \cos x + c _ { 4 } \sin x )$
$y = e ^ { - x } \( c _ { 1 } \cos 2x + c _ { 2 } \sin 2x ) + e ^ { x } ( c _ { 3 } \cos2 x + c _ { 4 } \sin 2x )$
$y = e ^ { -2 x } \( c _ { 1 } \cos x + c _ { 2 } \sin x ) + e ^ { 2x } ( c _ { 3 } \cos x + c _ { 4 } \sin x )$
$y = e ^ { x } \( c _ { 1 } \cos x + c _ { 2 } \cos x ) + e ^ { x } ( c _ { 3 } \sin x + c _ { 4 } \sin x )$

Solution:

⇒\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;m ^ { 4 } + 4 + 4 m ^ { 2 } - 4 m ^ { 2 } = 0

⇒\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\( m ^ { 2 } + 2 ) ^ { 2 } - ( 2 m ) ^ { 2 } = 0

⇒ ( m ^ { 2 } + 2 + 2 m ) ( m ^ { 2 } + 2 - 2 m ) = 0

Now;

( m ^ { 2 } + 2 + 2 m ) =0\and \ ( m ^ { 2 } + 2 - 2 m ) = 0

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;m = - { 4 ± √{ 4 - 4× 2 } }/ { 2 }

and

m = { 4 ±√ { 4 - 4 × 2 } } /{ 2 }

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\= { - 4 ± √{ 4 i ^ { 2 } } }/ { 2 }
