Solution:

a + b = 6, ab = 17/3
Formula used:

a^3 + b^3 = (a + b)(a^2- ab + b^2) = (a + b) [(a + b)^2- 3ab]

Calculation:
Putting values we get,

a^3 + b^3 = 6 [36 - 3 × 17/3] = 6 [36 - 17] = 6 × 19 = 114
