Two trains having length of 121 and 99 metres respectively are running on parallel tracks in the opposite directions. If speeds of trains are 54 and 36 kilo metre per hour then in how many seconds they will cross each other?

Solution:

Since, both trains running in opposite direction
∴ Relative speed

= 54 + 36 = 90

km/hr

=90×5/18=25

m/s
Distance covered by trains

= 121 + 99 = 220

m
Time taken to cross each other

t=d/s

=220/25=44/5=8.8

seconds
