Consider the given relation,

x√{243}=y√{867}

9√{3}x=17√{3}y

9x=17y

{x}=\;\;{17}/{9}{y}

Since, x and y are co-prime numbers.
Then, for

y=9

x=\;\;{17}/{9}×9=17

It is clear that 17 and 9 are co-prime numbers.
Now,the required value is,

x–y=17–9=8
